All they’d do is increase costs while the game still undersells because people don’t want to try new things. There is no making a game like this huge and with cutting edge graphics.

I have my issues with the game, but I don’t knock it for its scale. Not put it up there with the likes of Witcher 3, Persona 5, GTA, and other real 10/10s. But I would have given this a 7 out of 10 at best. The action is fun, min-maxing the trinkets / perks was enjoyable, and exploring the maps for the sake of exploring the maps was exciting. Instead, you are spoonfed the single, undeterrable answer. If there was one thing I was expecting from this set up, it was that there should have been more than one way for us to kill all the Visionaries at once. ONLY ONE SOLUTION - this is really where they messed up most. And that's going to nose dive real quick. The Julianna portion, which I suppose is intended to be the replayable part only works so long as other people are playing the Colt version. You can't try different paths to beat the game. Zero replayability - Once you beat the game - then what? That's it. Makes an already very generic enemy even more so. I’m sure there was an in-game reason for the masks, but likely the real reason was to get out of creating faces and hair. Not to mention some of the laziness / shortcuts taken.
#SUPER SHIFTY DEATHLOOP PS4#
This looks about as good as an early PS4 game. In other ways it serves no purpose but to just extend the game - like doing the Power Station multiple times to get into the Horizon doors.īad graphics - it’s a shame the game looks the way it does on PS5. The pay off? You now have a hole that takes you to the other side of the wall. But the eternalists digging that hole in the wall is literally the prime example of how poorly utilized this is.

The loop is a gimmick - the cause and effect could have been super creative. Regardless of how big the maps are, it really comes down to 6 small to medium maps: Dorsey Manor, Charlie's game, Fia's bunker, Harriet's hanger, Wenjie's lab, Frank's studio. Limited maps - the marketing language is "there's 16 maps because it's 4 maps x 4 times!". You shouldn't need a wiki to understand a game like this. Yes, I know there are backstory bits scattered throughout the game, but unless you are literally taking notes on your own crazy Charlie board, it's hard to piece together. So many unanswered questions that they don't even bother addressing.

Story with no pay off - you go through the hours of looping and the ending is all of an abrupt 15 seconds. B) Outlets were giving this a 10/10 and other similarly high scoresĭon't get me wrong, it's a fine 12 hour game.
